I adore this time of year. Cookies and cocoa abound, spirits are high, and lights are out in full force. My nightly runs with Nala (my chocolate lab) have been so enjoyable these past few weeks in Richmond, when Monument Avenue is awash with beautiful lights and trimmed trees in the windows.
Though I am admittedly not a super regular baker the rest of the year, I love bringing out the stand mixer and baking gifts and treats in December.
I’ve whipped up a few cookie recipes since Thanksgiving, and these sugar cookies from pastry base with chocolate buttercream frosting were far and away the best. Everything you need to make them (including naturally-colored sprinkles and candy cane, cookie cutters, and even vegan fondant!) come packaged in this festive box. AND the cookies and frosting can be made vegan!
Seriously, this kit is too good to be true. Step by step instructions are included with substitution info for vegan prep. Non-bakers will be relieved to know they also have tutorials for the baking kits on their website!
Right now, we’re giving this sugar cookie kit away on our instagram page as part of our 15 days of giveaways, so hop on over and enter to win!
If you’d like to gift a cookie kit, or any of the other fabulous gluten-free and vegan baking mixes and kits available from pastry base (think pumpkin spice cupcake kit, unicorn cupcake gift box, or gooey blondies kit), there’s still time! Order from their website by December 17th for Christmas delivery.
If you’re in Richmond, you can find select pastry base products at the following locations: Ellwood Thompson’s, Strawberry Street Market, For the Love of Chocolate, and Carytown Cupcakes! And don’t miss their pop up at Nordstrom in Short Pump this weekend, December 18-21st!
Disclaimer: I was gifted a holiday sugar cookie kit and a pumpkin spice cupcake kit from Pastry Base. All reviews and opinions expressed in this post are based on my personal view.
