You won’t believe how much tastier this food processor marinara is than jarred tomato sauce from the store. With one can of whole tomatoes and some pantry staples, you can whip up this sauce in no time. If you don’t have a food processor, a blender will work just fine for this recipe. I love how versatile this sauce is. You can use it as a pizza sauce, a pasta sauce, a dipping sauce for veggies, over meatballs, or with some eggplant parm. Using this base recipe, you can make all of the following variations:
Spicy marinara: Add additional red pepper flakes to taste.
Italian herb marinara: Add fresh basil, oregano, and thyme.
Roasted Red Pepper marinara: Roast one red pepper in the oven or over a gas burner and remove the outer peel. Add the roasted pulp to the food processor and puree.
Great for: Pizza sauce, pasta sauce, mozzarella sticks, dip for vegetables, chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan, zuchinni fries, eggplant fries, and whatever else you like to dunk in marinara!
