This spiced apple cider whiskey cocktail is everything I love about fall in a glass! Perfect for holiday gatherings and football watching. Serve cold or hot!
Of course fall means leaves changing color, apple picking and pumpkins, but here in Georgia it also means FOOTBALL! Just the mention of fall and football has me craving a good whiskey cocktail.

Description
This spiced apple cider whiskey cocktail is everything I love about fall in a glass! Perfect for holiday gatherings and football watching. Serve cold or hot!
Ingredients
Cinnamon Infused Apple Cider
- 1 qt apple cider
- 1 cinnamon stick
Whiskey Cocktail
- 2 fresh thyme sprigs
- 4 oz whiskey or bourbon
- 3 oz cinnamon infused apple cider
Instructions
To Make the Cinnamon Infused Apple Cider
- Pour apple cider into a medium sauce pan and add the cinnamon stick.
- Warm over low heat and let the cinnamon infuse for approximately 10 minutes.
- Discard the cinnamon stick and let cool. Store in a lidded jar in the refrigerator and enjoy hot or cold.
To Make the Cocktail:
- Massage thyme sprigs to release the oils. Place both in the bottom of a cocktail shaker.
- Add the whiskey/bourbon and cinnamon infused apple cider to the cocktail shaker.
- Add a handful of ice cubes and stir ingredients together with a cocktail stirrer or iced tea spoon.
- Divide the cocktail evenly between two rocks glasses. We like to serve over one large block or sphere of ice. If desired, garnish with apple peel and a sprig of thyme.
Notes
Make it hot: If you’d prefer a hot toddy during the cold winter months, simply add the whiskey cocktail ingredients to a small saucepan and stir until heated through. Remove the thyme sprigs and divide the boozy mixture evenly between two mugs.
