In my experience, sometimes baking is best left to the pro’s, and who better to turn to than Southern Living? I have so many of their cookbooks and credit them with much of my culinary education over the years. A few years back, my mother gifted me with the 2010 Southern Living Ultimate Christmas Cookbook that is filled with everything you could need to be the perfect holiday host (or guest!). Looking for recipes using ingredients I already had in my pantry (see more below), I decided to give the White Chocolate-Dipped Oatmeal-Cranberry Cookies a shot and was totally blown away. They are just the right amount of sweet and easy enough to make quickly or with your little ones.
The recipe yields about three dozen, making them a perfect desert for your holiday party, or to throw in these cute 150 Christmas Cellophane Treat Bags with twist ties Holiday Goodie Bags for Candy and give to your neighbors or coworkers. To keep myself from eating them all at home, I brought leftovers into my office and they were gone before lunch!
Have extra oats, pecans, and craisins? We’ve got you covered. Check out any of these recipes to use up those goodies and cut down on food waste:
- HONEY-ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH + CRANBERRY SPINACH SALAD
- CINNAMON + CRANBERRY GRANOLA
- WILD RICE WITH PECANS + CRAISINS
- APPLE OVERNIGHT OATS
- SAVORY TOASTED PECANS
- HEALTHY MASHED SWEET POTATOES

HI. I think this recipe was also in an earlier SL Christmas book. I have a lot of the SL Christmas books, and i am trying to find the book that we originally found it. My daughter loves these cookies and made them with her grandmother (who passed away in Nov 2010) and I wanted to give her the book. Thank you.

Hi Margie, according to this post, it was also included in a book called “Christmas With Southern Living 2006”. I hope this is the one! A very sweet gift idea. We love these cookies!
