Cake batter dip: this is such a festive dip that young and old will both enjoy. It’s no-bake, takes about 10 minutes to whip up, and you can serve it with various fruit, cookies, and pretzels for dipping. This is just meant for a celebration! How can you not love something dusted with sprinkles?
If you’ve always loved eating that list bit of cake batter in the bowl, this recipe is for you. There are no raw eggs, which means this is safe to eat to your heart’s content. As my mom said when she tasted it “It’s like the consistency of icing but tastes like cake!”
I used funfetti boxed cake mix for this, but you can use any confetti or yellow cake mix that you like best. Sometime soon I’ll try it with chocolate cake mix! Stay tuned…
This makes for such a fun platter once you slice up some strawberries and apples and add in your other dippers of choice. Here are some things you might include on your platter:
- pretzels (traditional, thins, or rods)
- graham crackers
- club crackers
- vanilla wafers
- chocolate wafer cookies
- teddy grahams
- animal crackers
- apple slices
- strawberries
- blackberries
- raspberries
If you try something else you love, let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear about it.
What makes this dip so fun is the addition of some really colorful sprinkles. You can use any that you have on hand, but I’m partial to the sprinkle mixes containing various shapes, sizes, and colors. For this recipe, I used a combo of two mixes from Graffiti Sprinkles.
I am ALL about Graffiti Sprinkles. Here’s why: I love the sprinkle-coated cake trend and those amazing cakes that you cut into and sprinkles come pouring out of the middle. But I tried a few of those recipes and while the giant sprinkles looked festive, they didn’t taste great. And some of the larger sprinkles were rock hard…like crack your tooth hard!
Graffiti Sprinkles look pretty but they are actually tasty — all on their own! Each sprinkle is constructed of a crispy rice puff coated in white, milk or dark chocolate, then coated with a colorful finish. Genius! These are sprinkles I feel good about serving. They’re available here on Amazon. Use code Graffiti10 for 10% off your purchase!
I used the following Graffiti Sprinkles mixes (Available on Amazon!) for my cake batter dip:
- Under The Sea (blues, purples, stars, and pearls!)
- Rainbow Crispies (a larger nonpareil in bright colors)
I hope you will love this family-friendly, no-bake dip as much as my family did! Be sure to pin this recipe and keep it in mind for your next celebration.

PrintCake Batter Dip (with Sprinkles!)
- Prep Time: 10
- Total Time: 10
- Yield: 4 cups dip 1x
Description
A true celebratory dip! The flavor of your favorite cake batter with the consistency of icing. Serve with pretzels, fruit, and graham crackers for a festive platter! This no-bake dip is ready in 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- 8 oz Lite Cool Whip, thawed (or whipped topping alternative)
- 1/3 – 1/2 cup milk (I used 2%)
- 2 cups confetti cake mix (I used Funfetti)
- 4 tablespoons of your favorite colorful sprinkles (I used one !important; margin:0px !important;" />”>Graffiti Sprinkles)
Instructions
- Using a stand or hand mixer, beat the softened cream cheese and thawed cool whip together until all lumps are incorporated and the mixture is smooth. This may take a few minutes!
- With the mixer on lowest setting, add in the cake mix a bit at a time. (Adding slowly will reduce the chances that your cake mix flies all over the counter.) Pour in 1/3 cup of milk to start, then add 2 tablespoons more at a time until you reach desired consistency.
- Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of your sprinkles, reserving the rest for topping.
- To serve, scoop the dip into a bowl and top with remaining sprinkles. Arrange on a platter with any of the following for dipping: pretzels, pretzel thins, pretzel rods, fresh berries, apple slices, chocolate wafers, vanilla wafers, graham crackers, animal crackers.
