Holiday season is finally here, and I’ve got just the mulled wine cocktail you need for all your festive parties! A few years ago, my Aunt Margaret made this delicious mulled wine for our annual family Christmas Eve party, and before I could snag a second glass, it was G-O-N-E. I’ve made the recipe for a crowd a few times since, and have tweaked it here and there by removing added sugar and sprucing up the look with orange slices.
Not only will this cocktail have your whole house smelling like a holiday dream in time for your guests to arrive (thanks cinnamon and clove!), it’s a cinch to throw together. Just dump it all in a saucepan and let it warm over low heat for 30 minutes. Alternately, you could add all the ingredients to a slow cooker and let it warm over low heat. Just make sure it doesn’t boil!
The cinnamon sugar rim adds a festive look to the drink, but you can cut out the added sugar altogether by nixing the cinnamon sugar rim. If you’re taking this drink to a friend’s for a party, I’d lose the rim and keep things simple!
