Ingredients
Mulled Wine
- 1/2 gallon apple cider
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 1 bottle (750 ml) red wine
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 dash ground clove
- 1 orange, sliced into rings
Cinnamon Sugar Rim
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Warm the apple cider in a sauce pan over low heat.
- Add in the pomegranate juice, red wine, sticks of cinnamon, dash of ground clove, and 2-3 orange slices.
- Let warm over low heat for 10-30 minutes until the flavors have melded and your whole house smells like the holidays. (Be careful not to let the mixture boil)
- Stir the sugar and cinnamon to combine on a salad plate.
- Use an orange slice to wet the rim of glass or mug, then dip in the sugar mix.
- Serve in rimmed glasses or mugs. Garnish with orange slices if desired. Cheers!
Notes
To make this in a slow cooker, just add all of the ingredients for the mulled wine to the crock pot and warm over low heat for a minimum of one hour. You can leave on warm setting until ready to serve.
