Need a detox post-Super Bowl party? We’ve got you covered with three variations on infused water! We’ve partnered with TEN Spring Water to bring you some fresh ideas to reach your daily H2O intake.
The first is a delicious citrus infusion. I opted to infuse my water with grapefruit, lemon, and lime, but you can choose any or all of the above. Highly recommend the grapefruit though. It’s beautiful in the glass, and you’ll totally feel like you’re having a fancy cocktail!
To create: Simply slice your citrus of choice, stir into your water, and enjoy! For a more potent flavor, you can add the sliced citrus to a carafe or mason jar with a lid and let sit in the fridge for a few hours before drinking. The citrus flavor will be strong!
The second is a crisp and refreshing cucumber mint infusion. Seriously guys, I could drink this all. day. long. I’ve been drinking it for days since I made it. You can even pop the cucumber slices and mint straight into your water bottle and refill all day for continued flavor!
To make: thinly slice the cucumber and place 5-6 slices in a glass. Add a sprig of fresh mint, and pour your water into the glass. This one is GREAT if left for several hours in a carafe prior to drinking.
The third infusion is a riff on a hot toddy. This warmed lemon and ginger infusion is great for the winter sniffles or if you’re feeling a little low on energy. The bright lemon and zingy ginger with perk you right up! Alternate idea: drink this soothing “mocktail” in place of a hot toddy during cocktail hour.
To make: thinly slice 2-3 slices of fresh ginger root and 2 slices of lemon and place in a glass. Boil water in a tea kettle and pour the hot water over the ginger and lemon. If you don’t have a tea kettle, you can pour the water into the mug and warm the whole infusion together in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
I chose to use TEN Spring Water because it’s rich in essential alkaline minerals and electrolytes. It’s a great alternative to sugary sports drinks to stay hydrated. TEN boasts the highest pH among bottled water brands, and is naturally filtered in underwater caves at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The location of the two water sources? Georgia and Virginia. Kinda seems like this water was made for us 🙂
