Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 3/4 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- A few shakes of red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp. almond flour
- 1 tbsp. nutritional yeast (not required but lends a cheesy flavor)
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 egg
- Nonstick cooking oil or spray
- Parchment paper
Instructions
- Place pizza stone or baking sheet into the oven and preheat to 450 degrees F.
- Cut florets off of the cauliflower and place in the food processor. Pulse until the cauliflower is a light and fluffy "rice" consistency.
- After you've processed the head of cauliflower, microwave for 5 minutes to cook. Remove from microwave and let the cauliflower cool.
- Once cooled, place the cauliflower in a dry kitchen towel and squeeze out as much moisture as possible. Dump the cauliflower into a mixing bowl and add the salt, herbs, almond flour, egg and olive oil. Using hands, mix until fully combined.
- Spray parchment paper with cooking spray, and scoop the mixture onto the paper. Pat the mixture into a circle, not too thin or too thick. Transfer the crust to the oven by sliding the parchment paper on to a cutting board and then onto the stone or sheet in the oven.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown with crispy edges.
- While baking, sautée any veggies you're topping the pizza with. Top the pre-baked crust with any sauce, cheese, veggies, or meat.
- Return to the oven for 5-7 minutes, watching that the edges don't burn. Remove from the oven and let rest for about 2 minutes before slicing with a pizza cutter. Enjoy!
