Ingredients
- 1 28 oz. can whole tomatoes with juice (preferably San Marzano)
- 10 garlic cloves, separated and peeled
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- Dash of red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to food processor and pulse until pureed. This sauce keeps in the refrigerator for up to one week, or can be frozen for later. Spicy marinara: Add additional red pepper flakes to taste. Italian herb marinara: Add fresh basil, oregano, and thyme. Roasted Red Pepper marinara: Roast one red pepper in the oven or over a gas burner and remove the outer peel. Add the roasted pulp to the food processor and puree.
