- Yield: 1 Loaf
Ingredients
- 2 c warm water
- 1 pkg dry active yeast
- 4 1/2 c flour (divided)
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. fresh rosemary (roughly chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (sliced)
- olive oil
- sea salt
Instructions
- Combine warm water and 1 package dry yeast in warm glass bowl. Yeast should start to activate and bubble as you stir.
- Slowly stir in 1 cup of flour, garlic powder, salt, rosemary, and garlic cloves. Then add the rest of flour, 1/2 cup at a time. 4 cups total, add more as needed. Dough should stick to the spoon and to the sides of the bowl, but do not form a dough ball (too much flour).
- Cover with a dish towel and let rise in a warm place for an hour and a half.
- Coat the cast iron with olive oil, about a tablespoon.
- Transfer dough with floured hands to cast iron. Cover with dish towel and let rise another 30 minutes.
- Set oven to 400 degrees.
- Remove towel and use a fork to poke a few holes on the top of the dough. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle extra rosemary on top.
- Place in oven and bake 35-40 minutes.
